[Help!]Autodesk 3D Studio Max v9 Download Link?

Hello everyone, i want to get into modeling for PR and i've seen in the following tutorial (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75855) that Autodesk 3D Studio Max v9 is required. I have 0 experience in 3ds software, in fact i did modelling with ZModeler for grand theft auto but this is completely different! Can someone provide a download link? And if possible a tutorial to create/edit a motorbike texture. Thank you!

Hello guys,

thank you for accepting me to your community.
I am not a PR player. I play vanilla BF2 and love the **** out of it.
I would like to say hello to you guys from the vanilla community.

I come here, seeking knowledge. I am trying to fix grenade spam in BF2. We have tried solutions like reducing the amount of nades you get to two or even getting rid of nades.
The first solution did not solve the problem. You could still resupply your own two grenades and throw them infinitely. The 2nd solution is not for everyone. It creates other problems like (roof) camping and a much less dynamic gameplay.

I have seen other people add changes to the mods\bf2\python\game\gamemodes\gpm_cq.py scrypt on the server and was thinking that it might be possible to apply a fix as mentioned in the forum title. Another thing I could think of, is maybe increasing the time it takes to resupply nades to a rather high number.

I am asking you guys, because you seem so much more knowledgeable of the game in general. I have asked others from my scene, done some research but couldn't tackle the problem on my own.

I would be very happy to get some advice from our brothers here in Project Reality.

Staticobjects.con Wiped Clean

Hi,

Does anyone know what could cause my Staticobjects.con to be wiped clean?

Just done a 4 hour stint of work, gone to test my map to find all statics have dissapeared. I have a backup but I really wouldn't like to lose my last 4 hours!!

Faction Change in init

So I wanted to change the factions of some of the maps, so I changed them on one map just to test it out. I changed the init.con file under \Project Reality\mods\pr\levels\gaza_2\server. Now when I try to load PR I get a CTD. When I tried to load with an online profile, it tells me that I have made changes that are not allowed and that it will not load. But if I load with an offline profile I just get the CTD. Anyone know how to fix this, or if there is a better way to change factions on maps?

This may be a silly question, but I have made some changes to my game that I believe are causing a CTD. I can't figure out what is causing the change. How do I find or make an event log so I can see what is causing the problem?

Mini map disappeared

In some of the maps that I have made alterations to (changing the faction and changing the vehicles to match) my mini map has disappeared, both in the vehicles and when I press 'M'. A gray square outline appears, but no map. Does anyone know why that is?

I think it has to do with replacing vehicles that have different icons on the map. For instance I replaced a transport helicopter from one faction with a US Chinook. The icon for the other helicopter has a single rotor and the Chinook icon has the dual rotor, yet it is still showing the original icon. I believe that is why the map isn't showing, but I don't know how to fix it.

EDIT: I am not sure that the above reason is the issue. I have made other changes of vehicles that involved the map icon and there has not been a problem on those maps. It is only happening on two maps, and the map disappeared after I changed a PL helicopter to a US Chinook.

Trying to make more realistic recoil for light vehicles, but got some side effects: the vehicle starts to slide over the surface.

I experimented with the grip parameter, and didn't notice any change.
Then with FrictionMod parameter in engine section, and with high enough values I could minimize the sliding, but the vehicle behavour is very odd with it.

What should I do to minimize the sliding in the transverse axis?

I need your help finding royalty free British WW2 soldier models

So, I am going to call on the community here to help me out with this one. I want something that both my Battlefield 1944 mod, and PR:WW2 can use if they potentially ever do choose to add a British faction to the game. I have a guy willing to export me some soldiers, but I don't want to just use any old character models from other games. I would prefer to have both European theater and North African soldier models please.

I think we can kill 2 birds with one stone so we can get something to potentially help both mods out. They have not said anything to me about wanting to do British, but I think that if we can get some high quality soldier models exported, it could open up the possibility for that very much so. PR already has a lot of British weapons from WW2 era and my team could provide new aircraft and vehicles in the future as well.

But don't get your hopes up, this is just my doing and has nothing to do with the PR team, I just feel like it could be a better possibility if we can find me some good soldier models for my character exporter.

When i start BF2Editor and select startup mod i get these errors below and editor closes after that. Im running editor in winxp compatibility mode. :(

Colour correction issue - please help!

Hey everyone.

Now, I have an issue trying to make terrain paint colour match that of a road spline texture.

I want to be able to fade the road spline into nothing but painted tarmac. I have edited the paint colour multiple times to make it match that of what is shown in the editor, but when the map is loaded in game, the colour doesnt match...

Best way to fix this? Any help appreciated from our keen mappers :)

As the title is saying , it suddenly disappears in the con file whenever i save my work and/or reloading the map in the editor to check the sound i use. It happens all the time and it is a pain in the ass.

Hi

Wonder if you can help i need to update our kits with new Geom for the drop weapons the guy who did this for me in the past isnt about anymore so need to do this my self.

I have done a straight import of the kit and tried to export it out to make sure it works and it wont export so i am not sure if something has happened to the layout on the import.

Do you by any change have a guide on how to update the Kit Geoms so i can add extra weapons in to it please if you do great if not do you have a screenshot of a proper layout i can follow please

Tweaking Suppression Effects

Does anyone know how to change suppression effects?

I really like the realism that suppression is attempting to create, but I think it is implemented incorrectly. I think the suppression effects should be more proportional to the amount of fire you are taking. A single bullet should not cause the same affects as a burst from a 50 cal or a grenade round. I would like to try and scale the effects so that my aim is not thrown off by a single round landing close every three seconds.

Also, because suppression does not affect bots in coop, I would like the ability to turn off or severely limit suppression rather than trying to tweak it. Thanks in advance!

Note: Yes, I understand that modded files cannot be used in an official MP servor. This would be for my own amusement.

Glow effects

Hi there do you know if it is possible to add the glow effect to other meshes

For example rather then just a bulb shape i have some tubes as in strip lights and would like to give them a glow effect do you know if this is possible

Also we are making a Stargate mod for BF2 and would like if possible to add an effect to the Event Horizon to make this almost glow so its on night maps it would look awsome

any info or advice would be great.
